ABOUT SPORTS MANAGEMENT SOCIETY (SMS)
The Sport Management Society (SMS) is a student-driven organization, whose purpose is to provide opportunities to gain working knowledge and experience in all aspects/areas of the Sport Management field, through internships, volunteer and networking opportunities for members in the areas of (but not limited to): Team operations, Event Management, Game Operations, Facility Management, Concessions, Media/Marketing and Sports Medicine.

Student Internship Opportunity Levels
LEVEL 1
Open to grades 6th -12th
Legacy Games and Practices
Legacy Events and Home Game Operations
Examples:
-
DOB and Managers for Sports teams

Provide media coverage for home games

Provide athletic trainers for practices and games

Set-up for home games
-
Operations for home gamess
LEVEL 2
Open to anyone who has participated in Level 1 events and programs
Operation assistance for outside vender events taking place on Legacy’s campus
Examples:
-
Set-Up and Operations for youth leagues and tournaments
-
Media coverage for events
-
Athletic trainers for events
LEVEL 3
Open to High School students who have participated in Level 1 and 2 events/programs

Events hosted by outside vendors at locations off campus.

Examples:
-
Assist with youth leagues and events located around Houston
-
Assist/Shadow at college and professional level events
